Fundraiser Update

Since New Year’s Day 2026, we’ve raised $4,883 of our $8,850 goal: already 55% toward making a difference!

Today marks the launch of Card Campaign’s annual fundraising drive as we welcome 2026. We go into this new year with hope and optimism that our united efforts will pull our beloved country back toward the light. 

We are officially entering our third year as a political campaign. Our journey has shown that our mission was never just about re-electing President Biden.

When I started this campaign in January 2024, I naively thought, “Re-electing Biden should be easy!” However, I quickly realized I couldn’t do this alone. Within fifteen minutes of launching the effort, I reached out on social media to find a volunteer or two to help. I am grateful every day for our team: Leslie, Katya, Fellene, and me (Michele). Though we are small, we are mighty.

Everyone in this community knows we have a long way to go to repair the damage from the assault on our nation that began on January 20th. While we expected some upheaval and attacks on our government, none of us imagined how severe or how fast the strikes on our government would be. Every day it continues, threatening to end American democracy unless Americans stand up to stop the Trump administration’s runaway train.

Now we go into 2026 with one goal: to win the midterms with a blue wave of victory, the first step toward reclaiming our country. You know the U.S. military’s motto of “No man left behind.” We won’t leave our country behind; we are taking it back.

That one goal, winning the midterms and getting our country back, shifts the Card Campaign’s original mission. We’ve determined some priorities, and more will come to light as we move forward.

To make Card Campaign stronger and more effective, we need to adjust our 2026 financial plan. This year, our fundraising goal is $8,850. 

Whether it’s $5 or $50, you can make your donation by clicking the “Donate” button down below. We’ll let you know and close the fundraising campaign when we reach that goal. Please note that we are not a nonprofit organization, so donations are not tax-deductible. 

Here’s how we use your donations:

• Our annual website and email service fees.

• We need a new website to reflect Card Campaign’s altered mission, so we’re switching hosts, and our designer, Fellene, is already hard at work creating a new, improved website. Yay, Fellene! A project of this scale cannot be done on a volunteer basis, and we believe we must compensate her for her work. We’ve allocated $2,000 for the website build.

• The website will include news articles, independent journalism articles, resources and tools, and a YouTube channel.

• Expanding our reach through our email list is a priority, and it is the most costly part of Card Campaign’s efforts. Our email list consists of people who signed up to receive notifications about new card releases and events.

Onward, Democracy Defenders!

We have a big year ahead. We believe that if we stand united, with everyone contributing in whatever way they can to save our democracy, we can not only win the midterms but build momentum going into 2028. 

Protest. Volunteer. Make donations if and when you can. Use the cards from Card Campaign and tools from other organizations. Use your “town square,” personal conversations, and your social media platforms to promote democracy. Above all, do your best.
