Your Vote and How It Benefits You,
Your Family, and Your Community

There is something many lawmakers fear, especially as we head into an election: the Power of We. Our votes can strengthen our community and create change. So how do we do this? We organize and VOTE for the candidates who want to work for us, ordinary people.

Our vote has a great impact in state elections, even in large states like California, New York, and Texas.

What We Get When We Vote for State Lawmakers

• A say in all the things that affect our lives every single day, including how our tax dollars are used. 
• A say in whether our state provides generous public-school funding to give everyone a fair start in life.
• A say in whether our state protects the right to access healthcare, including reproductive care.
• A say in how our state provides social programs and services like Medicaid, SNAP, and childcare.
• A say in whether companies can buy up land, use up water, and pollute our air.
• A say in how districts are drawn for our representation in Congress and our state legislature.

When we vote, we should expect safe and secure elections run by poll workers who are our friends and neighbors.

• We want a Congress that will establish universal healthcare to keep us healthy and contributing to our society and economy.
• We want a Congress that funds improvements to the roads, bridges, airports, and seaports that keep our country moving.
• We want a Congress that protects our rights to speak freely, to vote, to protest.
