The Campaign Against the People

On July 4, 2025, Trump signed the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” which gave huge tax cuts to billionaires and corporations while cutting programs millions depend on. A year later, here’s a look at key parts.

The tax cuts for the rich started immediately, adding $4.5 trillion to the national debt. To offset this,

• Medicaid cuts of nearly $1 trillion take effect in December 2026, reducing benefits, adding work and eligibility requirements, and shifting costs to states.
• Medicaid paperwork is required every 6 months.
• Many hospitals and nursing homes may have to cut services or close.
• Medicare reimbursements will decrease by $500 billion.
• SNAP faces cuts of $186 billion (20%) starting in December 2026, with additional work requirements and costs shifted to states.
• Tax deductions for seniors and exemptions for tips and overtime will end in December 2028.

This is not the founders’ vision of a government that works for ‘We, the People.’

In a democracy, the government must serve the people by protecting rights, upholding the law, and providing a robust social safety net. We elect officials with this expectation.

Across the country and party lines, most Americans want the same things:

• The rights guaranteed by our Constitution, such as voting, representation, and equality.
• Access to food, housing, and healthcare.
• Higher wages and worker protections.
• Quality public education and affordable childcare.
• A strong social safety net, Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare, SNAP, and free school meals.
• An end to corporate monopolies.
• Campaign finance reform and rooting out corruption.
• Higher taxes on the wealthy and corporations.
• Fair immigration reforms respecting human rights.
• A Supreme Court that respects and follows the Constitution.

These are not “right” or “left” issues; they are firmly in the center of American democracy. Listen carefully to local, state, and Congressional candidates, then choose those who will truly make our lives better.
