PROJECT 2025:

The Republican blueprint for turning America into a Christian Nationalist country run by an Authoritarian.

The Heritage Foundation (THF) has developed a blueprint to consolidate power in the presidency. It intends to potentially overturn our democracy if Donald Trump is re-elected or if a Christian Nationalist gains power. THF refers to this plan as Project 2025, labeling it a “playbook for the first 180 days of the next Administration.”

Kevin Roberts, the head of THF, recently stated, “Project 2025 will not be stopped.” A few days later, he remarked, “We are in the process of the second American Revolution, which will remain bloodless if the left allows it to be.”

Some key objectives of Project 2025:

• Grant the president unchecked power by restricting Congressional oversight and placing the Department of Justice and FBI under direct presidential control.
• Implement a national abortion ban by declaring abortion to be murder, establishing fetal personhood, and terminating access to medications and contraception.
• “Protect” Social Security and Medicare by reducing benefits, raising the eligibility age, and shifting coverage from Medicare to private medical insurers.
• Reduce veterans’ benefits by restricting eligibility, coverage, and duration and transitioning medical care away from the VA to private insurers and providers.
• Abolish the Department of Homeland Security, eliminate border protections, and cease or severely impede counter-terrorism and cybersecurity efforts.
• Reclassify federal jobs to replace thousands of nonpartisan civil servants with extremist loyalists who will not act as a check on presidential power. This effort could disproportionately impact military veterans, particularly within the Department of Defense, FBI, and DHS. The Heritage Foundation has identified up to 20,000 loyalists to be installed at all government levels.
• End Climate Change Initiatives, eliminate the EPA, overturn current clean air and clean water regulations, and reduce funding for renewable energy initiatives.
• Remove federal protections for LGBTQ+ people, ban transgender health care, and define marriage as between a man and a woman. 
• End diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, including potentially firing federal employees with DEI training. Diversity education at the five military academies would be eliminated. 
• Round up and deport immigrants. Up to 15 million people may be subject to mass deportation, including non-citizen military spouses, children of undocumented parents, and asylum seekers.
• End public education by eliminating the Department of Education, imposing a Christian Nationalist curriculum nationwide, and using public school funds for voucher programs to private and religious schools. 
• Institute Christianity as the national religion, basing all laws on evangelical theology.
